In the past few years, there has been a dramatic rise in the numbers of home inspectors. How did this glut of home inspectors come about? As you may know, the home inspection industry is unregulated. Anyone can say they are a home inspector, and begin doing inspections. With many companies having no track record and unqualified inspectors. The industry is in shambles. Home Inspection franchises and people calling themselves Certified Inspectors are popping up all over Canada. Does this mean they have had any formal training or have proven qualifications? NO! Relief may be on the way, but in the meantime home buyers must be careful who they hire.
As consumers, we understand that quality and service is reflected in the price. When low price is the only significant attraction to a company, that company must compete solely on the basis of price. Price reductions can only be accomplished in two ways, reducing service or eliminating profit. Reducing service translates into increased litigation for the home inspector and more problems for the homebuyer, and reducing profit is a sure way to close a business. While this might reduce the number of unprofessional home inspection companies, buyers do not want to have house problems only to find the home inspector they hired is out of business or is uninsured.
HomePro has built it’s excellent reputation by providing quality service with trained and knowledgeable inspectors using a report that will protect everyone in the home purchase transaction. Protecting our clients is something we are not willing to compromise on. Are home buyers unhappy with the price they pay for HomePro quality? We have never had a client say that our service was not good value. So throw out those coupons and look to the company that offers true value! As professionals we can help educate home buyers so they make informed decisions when hiring a home inspector.
